The Machinist is a popular action movie written by Tahren Aeilzenia.

Synopsis

The story follows Marcus McMatthews, an agent of “The Museum”. The Museum is a fictional satirization of The Archive, however in the movie it’s much more insidious. Likewise The Archive (machine) is called “The Machine”. The Museum uses it’s hold on knowledge to extort, and control people as much as possible.

One day as McMatthews is out on an assignment to arrest a school teacher. He finds out that she’s under arrest because she mentioned in class her belief that The Machine is simply a virus, and a few statistical models (called virus-probability theory). The Machine knows so much because it breaks into other devices and collects all the information it needs to make itself appear clairvoyant. After “dealing with” her, he is instructed to head back to the headquarters.

A broadcast is sent out to other agents to “deal with” McMatthews as well, since he’s now heard the truth. Unfortunately for “The Museum” they didn’t blacklist his car, so he was able to see the message go out. On the run, and now knowing that the teacher was right McMatthews seeks to usurp “The Museum”. He recruits several people who were on his list to “deal with”, and they work together to overthrow “The Museum”.

In the final confrontation McMatthews has killed the leader of The Museum. He realizes The Machine’s prerogative is to protect The Museum and it’s executives. McMatthews agrees to kill his compatriots and start over with The Machine. He successfully blames the old Museum for the crimes, and then in private begins working with the machine to rebuild the organization.
